Alixion was the fourth serial of Season 27 of Doctor Who. It was written by Robin Mukherjee, directed by Alan Wareing and starred Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor and Julia Ormond as Raine Cunningham.

It was the final regular appearance of Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor.

 Synopsis[]

On her first trip in the TARDIS, the Doctor brings Raine to the rocky planet of Alixion. They encounter a society of two similar races who live in a network of caves.

The Doctor comes to learn of a great scientist known simply as an Abbot, who's discovered the ultimate form of immortality on Alixion. But there's a twisted truth to the Abbots Elixir of Youth; one which the Doctor disaproves of.

When the Abbot challenges the Doctor's authority, he has the Doctor sedated & imprissoned. Determined to become a god of his people, the Abbot puts the Doctor to the ultimate test in order to learn his secrets. With Raine all on her own, the Doctor must find escape from his imprisonment & make sure the Abbot never gets his hands on his secrets, even if costs him his own life...

  • The regeneration sequence features specially recorded cameos by Bonnie Langford and Sophie Aldred. Because Langford had left the show in previous seasons, a special contract had to be written for her cameo.
