Battleground was the first serial of Season 29 of Doctor Who. It was written by Ben Aaronovitch, directed by Alan Wareing and starred Richard Griffiths as the Eighth Doctor, Julia Ormond as Raine Cunningham and Mark Greenstreet as Higgs.
Synopsis[]
Many years ago, The Doctor & his friends battled against the evil Morgaine, an enemy from the Doctor's future.
Now, several years into the Doctors future, he finds himself arriving in Morgaine's past. The time is now. He must banish Morgaine & claim the role of Merlin so that his his younger self to do battle in her future.
