Curious, Happiness & filled with Wonderlust, the Ninth Doctor was the polar opposite of his predecessor, showing his more softer & happier, but mad side. This incarnation of the Doctor believed in hope and practised compassion, providing help to anyone who asked.
This incarnation of the Doctor initially travelled with Bernice Summerfield & Chris Hector though after many travels, Bernice retired from travelling & Chris got lost in the Time Vortex. He then proceeded to travel with Abigail Norwood, a detective from the far future. Abigail eventually left the Doctor in order to take on the identity of Catheril.
After some time alone, he met Jean Robinson. The two had many adventures together before regenerating into his next incarnation after frying his mind to power CORDIS & save Jean.

Personality[]
The Ninth Doctor harkened back to the madness & curiosity of his fourth incarnation. However he felt more human than his fourth incarnation. He rarely showed anger & sadness, unless he was pushed to his limit.

Casting[]
Garwood originally considered having a recognisable & established actor in the role of the Ninth Doctor. Names considered for the role included Rowan Atkinson, Richard E Grant, Jim Broadbent, Liam Cunningham & Anthony Head. Liam Cunningham would later go on to play the Eleventh Doctor. After Bonneville's audition for the role, Garwood was impressed with the young actors portrayal of the part & he was soon offered the role of the Doctor
