Season 49 of Doctor Who ran between 1 September 2012 and 23 November 2013. It starred Peter Capaldi as the Thirteenth Doctor,Gemma Chan as Kelsey Haule & Tom Ellis as Richard McIntyre. The season opened with The Plague of the Cybermen and concluded with The Black Heart.
This season specially marked the fiftieth anniversary of Doctor Who and was followed by the 50th Anniversary Special, The Fall of the Doctor.
