The Freedom Queen was the eighth serial of Season 39 of Doctor Who. It was written by Paul Cornell, directed by Hettie MacDonald and starred Aidan Gillen as the Tenth Doctor, Miranda Raison as Jessica Tyler & Sophie Aldred as Ace.
Synopsis[]
The Doctor & Jessica find themselves landing on the planet Yardley 68 - a refugee world, carefully managed by their leader, The Freedom Queen. However, upon arriving on the planet, the pair find themselves being arrested & taken to the Freedom Queen to stand trail, where the Doctor discovers the Freedom Queen to be a very old friend - Ace.
But something is wrong with Ace - something is wrong with the entire planet. Why is everyone so hostile to visitors? & why does Ace have no idea who the Doctor is? Something sinister is happening on Yardley 68, and, with one of his best friend's life's at stake, the Doctor is determined to find out what.
