The Next Doctor was the third serial of Season 40 of Doctor Who. It was written by Justin Richards, directed by James Hawes and starred Aidan Gillen as the Tenth Doctor & Miranda Raison as Jessica Tyler.
Synopsis[]
The Doctor has been summoned back to Earth by Winifred Bambera to help with an emergency - an emergency involving his own future. UNIT has taken in a future incarnation of the Doctor, dealing with severe regeneration trauma, who needs another incarnation to help him stabilise.
Meeting with the man claiming to be his future self, the Doctor learns about the presence of Konqest soldiers, who plan to steal the Doctor's regeneration energy. The Doctor agrees to help his future self & fend him off from the Konqest. But can this new Doctor be trusted?
