The Taker of Life was the third serial of Season 33 of Doctor Who. It was written by Kate Orman, directed by Sandy Johnson and starred Hugh Bonneville as the Ninth Doctor, Lisa Bowerman as Bernice Summerfield & Robert Bathurst as Chris Hector.
Synopsis[]
The TARDIS lands on the planet Basalt II, a world of peace & harmony. But there is more to this simple world. It's inhabitants worship & follow the orders a creature in the sky known as the God of Heat - a being who keeps the world pure & clean in exchange for a yearly sacrifice.
Who or what exactly is this God of Heat? Can it be trusted? Is it even a real God? All will become clear to the Doctor & his companions, but will the people of this world believe them?
